As some of you know, I fell victim to chicken math. 23 of them to be infact. What a roller coaster ride it is! They arent all laying yet so I am not drowning in eggs YET. But the time is coming. If you arent homesteading and witching what are you even doing? Eggs – cleansing ritual. Feathers- Decor and more! Bones – Decor and ritual items. They are so dual purpose its not even funny! Then you can use their poop as fertilizer to help grow your herb gardens. CHICKENS ARE SO WITCHY VERSITILE!!!!

Eggs
Witchy wise, this is the most versatile use for a chicken in the craft. Cleansing an egg, running it over your body, and cracking it into a jar or glass of water to read the egg is a super common practice! It helps detect bad energies or notify you of needs of protection amongst other things. They can also be given as offerings.

Feathers
Feathers are used for mostly smudging in my opinion. They also make AMAZING decorations. Adding them to brooms helps sweep away energies. Hang them from a dream catcher or witches wreath for added protection. Use them as offerings to deities you worship. They are fairly versatile.
Meat and Bones
Bones are used for so much in witchcraft too. Decoration. Runes. Bone readings. Offerings. The list goes on. The meat can be a wonderful offering or you can use it for a spell. The first one that comes to mind is using a chicken breast in replacement of a heart or a cow tongue. Please dont use meat for decoration…. its the main thing NOT to do that with. But the organs could be amazing in a ritual as well! Or an offering. I always try to offer something with each animal I cull.
Chicken Chaos
Now let me tell you what, these little bastards are loud, needy, and downright stinky. I Love them to death but man, I am so glad there is a payoff to their presence. We have some that keep escaping and being killed, we have some that love to step on your feet and scream at you when you accidentally step back, and MAN IF YOU DONT FEED THEM AS SOON AS THEY GET HUNGRY…… Demanding as a toddler I tell you. But, knowing im nourishing my family from eggs, creating compost for my garden, and I get a witchy twist in the end really makes it all worth it in the end.
