Mental Chaos Overtakes Physical

The chaos of my alter. It changes daily. Sometimes it’s work space and sometimes it’s ritual space.

Sorry for the delay in posting everyone! Let’s just say the chaos has been chaosing! I want to start off by saying my mental health journey this last year has been an insanely wild experience. I have an amazing support team behind me that has done and shown me so many wonderful things and I cannot appreciate them enough. So bear with me because this blog is TRUE chaos.

I want to be the first one to tell you that if you are having a hard time deciding to start your mental health journey, DO IT. I’m so serious. It’s super nerve-wracking at first but I genuinely mean it. Even if it’s just some minor therapy. SEEK THE HELP. This world is such a cruel place anymore, and with everything people and the media and movies make us absorb, we need it. We are exposed to so many things that the brain is not built to handle, it is surreal and we don’t even notice it. If it’s genuinely not for you that’s fine. But if you’re on the fence about it, just try it. And if you genuinely want help and one person doesn’t work, do not be afraid to try someone else!

Different Types of Help

If you are looking to start your mental health journey there are so many different options you can try. It’s damn near limitless.

  • The Gym
  • Walking
  • Yoga
  • Swimming
  • Psychiatry
  • Counseling
  • Online Therapy
  • Journaling
  • Meditation
  • Crafting
  • Rituals

I bet I lost you there for a second trying to figure out how this ties into witchcraft. Well a lot of it can. But we gotta be mundane sometimes right? On the witchy aspect of it your journaling, crafting, meditation, rituals, and even your counseling are going to be your main sources to look into. There are lots of spiritual therapists out there shockingly enough, but if you’re in a rural area like me your best bet to find one is going to be online. I didn’t really even scratch the surface on the types of things people use for mental health but I think you get the gist. It’s whatever brings you peace of mind or allows you to get pent-up emotion out in a healthy way.

I’ve got three kids running around my house. I got into a very chaotic relationship that has been a roller coaster since. I’ve had a wicked custody battle with my husband’s ex. And I really went through some fun stuff growing up. Once I had my child I realized that I was no longer the best mother I could be for my kids and decided all my old vices were no longer cutting it. So therapy. Through therapy I’ve begun finding myself again, which allowed me to start feeling and practicing my craft again, and for that I am so grateful. We still have a long way to go, but it’s been quite a journey to get where we are now!

With the chaos of Halloween being over, I’ve been able to really dive back into gear with both therapy and witchcraft and here we are!

So Now What?

Okay Shea get to a point here. Tell us something really informative to give your blog value we don’t just want to hear about your bullshit…

Well suck it up! Haha that’s part of the chaos! But seriously, try a bunch of things out. I love Burrell. That’s how I started my journey! With sliding scale fees and taking Medicaid they have been a very affordable and super helpful option for me and my family (not sponsored just an honest woman’s opinion here lol). The resources they offer are just next level. And sometimes I even get to do therapy outside or from the comfort of my own home.

Your mental health is important. You are worthy. You are not alone. You WILL get better. You just have to find the right avenue. Start simple if therapy is scary. YouTube offers so many guided meditations. The VR has several free meditation apps that you can also cross with your phone (like Maloka! also not sponsored lol). Go for a run. Get your body moving so your brain slows down. Write everything down. Take it from inside you and slam it onto that piece of paper. Google energy rituals and learn how to align chakras or dispel thoughts. It’s LIMITLESS. Research can even be a form of therapy.

So…. What’s that got to do with Witchcraft?

So if you really break down what witchcraft is, you have to dive into the mental health aspect. You’re learning and exploring yourself and your magic and your roots. If your mind is aligned, your magic will shine. And I seriously mean that. If you’re accepting of yourself and you’re confident in what you say, think, and do, your magic becomes SO much more potent. When you’re downing yourself and doubting yourself, you’re not going to channel your highest potential into your spellwork. I’ve been reading a book about the Dark Goddesses. It goes deep into what each goddess represents and what she helps you overcome and how. It really made me realize how much your health and wellbeing go into your craft.

If you’re forever speaking ill of yourself and others, that’s intention. That’s what is going to come to fruition. If you stop and learn how to better treat yourself you’re going to empower yourself. Therefore empowering your magic. Your words are power. They are magic. And that right there is why mental health is so important to your craft journey.

What That Looks Like For ME

On my personal journey, I have acquired a team of people behind me that teach me ways to promote positivity in my life and how to better handle situations. The things we speak on and learn about are then transitioned into my everyday life. Positivity – Positive affirmations. Emotional outburst – Quiet meditation or breathwork. Anxiety – Meditation. Someone fucks with me – Sour jar or freezer spell. It’s all a balance.

I know this post has been crazy but I promise it has a purpose. Your mental health matters and you should take it very seriously. Your magic is a part of you. If you want it to be more powerful or successful, you have to take care of you as a whole. Whether you choose to go seek help from others or just explore things yourself through personal outlets and vices – TAKE CARE OF YOURSELF.Your craft is a living thing that grows with you. Feed your mind, protect your energy, and honor the parts of yourself you’ve ignored. You don’t have to have it all together to start. You just have to start. Your journey is yours, your magic is yours, and you’re stronger than the chaos lets you believe.
