Magic, Motherhood, and Money

Welcome back to another chaotic blog.
I am so exhausted I can’t see straight. So, I quit my job at the bar and have been mostly stay-at-home-momming. I’m still working for my dad part-time while running the Etsy shop, maintaining this blog, and working on my other side business.

Let me tell you what — the lack of success is exhausting. I know it’s not an overnight thing, but dammit, it’s my money and I need it now!

I am super grateful for the support I’m receiving so far, and I appreciate every single one of you so much. But let’s be honest — this economy is not built for a single-income family. Especially not with three kids in three different schools.
(Well… technically two kids in three schools, but alas, such is the chaos of my life.)

The Overwhelming Chaos of Motherhood

How do people portray these picture-perfect lives? I mean, hell, I’m lucky to get four loads of laundry washed and folded in a day.
How are these people deep-scrubbing their houses and working full-time with 50/11 kids?

Is it cocaine?
Because if not, I need the name of their coffee brand — mine clearly isn’t cutting it.

Our mornings are chaos incarnate:

  • My husband gets up at 5:30 to put our daughter on the bus at 6:00.
  • Then he takes our son to his first school at 8:00.
  • I get up with the youngest at 7:00 and either run around like a wild chicken or rot on the couch like a potato because, well, exhaustion.

The rest of my day? A wild game of carpool Tetris.

  • Leave at 10:00 to pick our middle son up 30 minutes away.
  • Deliver him to his second school 20 minutes away.
  • Drive 30 minutes back home.
  • Clean, work on my businesses, maybe eat something if I’m lucky.
  • Leave again at 2:30 to pick both kids up by 3:15.

And that’s just the school-time shuffle.
On top of that, I still have to cook dinner, do more cleaning, educate my kids about the things the school system won’t, and maintain a stable relationship with my husband.

This isn’t even touching on shopping trips, doctor’s appointments, or whatever random chaos pops up. There simply aren’t enough hours in the day.

So if you’re a parent in a similar situation — whether working full-time or parenting as your full-time job — KUDOS.
Because I’ve lost my ever-loving mind.

Gratitude… and Frustration

I am so grateful to my husband for working as hard as he does so I can stay at home.

But day by day, it’s just not financially sustainable anymore. And on top of our already hectic schedule, it feels like nobody actually wants to hire anymore.
Why is everyone constantly complaining about being understaffed and then turning around and refusing to hire?

Make it make sense.

Some days I feel like I’m just broken — like maybe other people really do find this easy. But if you’re on the struggle bus with me, please let me know in the comments so I know I’m not alone.

Back to the Witchy Side 🌿

I’ve finally been able to set up a proper witchy space for myself!

A laptop with a mystical-themed wallpaper sits on a dark table adorned with intricate designs, accompanied by pens and a notepad.

There are a few simple spells that have really helped me with financial stress over the years. These aren’t magic cure-alls, but they’re powerful tools when paired with real-world effort.

💰 Money Magic That Works With You

I keep an offering bowl in my space year-round. Here’s how mine works:

  • It’s filled with rice, cinnamon, alfalfa, and basil.
  • All of Austin’s spare change goes into the bowl as an offering.
  • We never take anything out of it during the year — what’s given, stays.
  • At the end of the year, I divide the offering evenly between our two oldest kids.

For my youngest, I have a giant Coca-Cola bottle that serves as his own “savings spell.” Someone gifted it to him for his first birthday, so it’s become a special tradition just for him. The older two… well, they lost their piggy banks by constantly breaking into them, so their setup is different!

✨ Monthly Prosperity Ritual

On the first of every month, I blow cinnamon through my front door while speaking my intentions for the month ahead.
This could be:

  • Prosperity and financial growth
  • Peace and harmony at home
  • Happiness and health for my family

🪄 Full Prosperity Bowl Spell

Here’s the more in-depth version if you’d like to try it:

You’ll Need:

  • A bowl
  • Rice
  • Cinnamon
  • Basil
  • Alfalfa
  • Spare change
  • A candle holder
  • A green candle (white works as a substitute)
  • Fool’s gold (pyrite)
  • Malachite

Steps:

  1. Fill the bowl with rice, herbs, and spare change.
  2. Arrange the crystals in any way that feels right.
  3. Place the candle holder in the center and set your green candle inside.
  4. Infuse it with intention. As you build the bowl, focus on exactly what you need — feel it in your bones.
  5. Light the candle and speak to it. Tell it what you need and what you’re willing to do to achieve it.
  6. Meditate briefly. (Because let’s be real, the kids won’t leave you alone for long.)
  7. Add spare change whenever you find it. Thank the spell each time you do.

Pro Tip: Don’t stress if you don’t have every single ingredient.
Clear quartz can stand in for any crystal. Fake tealights work if you don’t have a candle.
Your energy and intention are what truly matter.

🔑 Remember: Magic + Action = Results

This spell isn’t going to drop a pile of cash in your lap out of nowhere.
You need to pair the magic with real-world action:

  • Set a goal for how many job applications to submit daily.
  • Try online survey sites or small side hustles.
  • Look into social media creator programs.

The energy you put into the spell will amplify the energy you put into your actions.

The Departure

Being a human in this economy is hard enough, let alone a mom, spouse, and provider.
Magic gives us clarity and focus — but it works best when paired with effort.

This post alone took me several hours to write because of all the chaos swirling around my life. But hey, that’s motherhood for you!

If you’ve stuck with me this far, thank you so much for joining me in the madness.

If you’re in the same boat, you’re not alone. Life is messy and overwhelming, but we can figure it out one step (and one spell) at a time.

I’ll be posting soon about a few small, at-home income ideas I’ve personally tried and actually had success with — so stay tuned!

Until then, remember:

Magic and Motherhood are messy.
Take a breath, cast a spell, sip some coffee, and trust that the universe will meet you halfway — even if it’s running late to the pickup line.
